INMAN, S.C. – November 10, 2022 – Spencer Bayston, driver of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Series No. 5 TrueTimber car, has been named the 2022 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year. TrueTimber announced the partnership with Bayston and CJB Motorsports earlier in 2022 as title sponsor on the No. 5 car and will return for the 2023 season.
“We are so proud of Spencer and the entire CJB team,” said TrueTimber CEO Rusty Sellars. “This has been a great sponsorship and it’s remarkable how many new and old fans we’ve been able to connect with since announcing this partnership. Congrats to Spencer and the whole team, we are looking forward to running up front again next year with the No. 5 car.”
Bayston finished eighth overall in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series standings with two victories, 16 top-five and 39 top-ten performances in 2022. He closed the year with back-to-back World Finals top-ten appearances at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, finishing eighth on each occasion. Bayston’s car featured both TrueTimber RipTide and Strata camo paint schemes throughout the season.
“I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished this season, including the Rookie of the Year award,” said Bayston. “It was so exciting carrying the TrueTimber brand as our title sponsor this season and running at the front of the pack with the world’s best-selling camo brand. The entire team and I are all passionate about the outdoors, hunting and fishing, so this sponsorship has been a great fit and we look forward to what it will bring in 2023.”
